Wow, some powerful words in today’s devotional reading from Sarah Young’s “Jesus Calling.”
God loves us regardless of how well we are performing. I know sometimes I feel uneasy about whether or not I’m doing enough for Him to be pleased with me, for me to be worthy of His unfailing love. But there’s the thing… His love is unfailing. Our performance and God’s love are totally different issues. Our accomplishments as Christians have NO bearing on His love for us! Even our ability to asses how well we are doing on a given day is flawed. Our limited human perspective and the condition of our body, with it’s mercurial variations, distort our evaluations.
I will bring my performance anxiety to God, and in it’s place I will receive his UNFAILING love. I will try to stay more conscious of God’s loving presence with me in all that I do, and He will direct my steps.

Lola came to support me last night at my City Hearts fundraiser, and she was the sweetest thing!! I couldn’t count on two hands the amount of times this little came up to me and told me how pretty I looked. It’s little girls like Lola that make me love and appreciate my job as much as I do. She is a beautiful girl, with such a radiant spirit. Knowing a little one was THIS excited to receive an autographed headshot of me means so much!! So glad I could put a smile like this on her sweet face. God is good!! 👑🙌

Last night I got to crown my 12th Lonestar Princess! Meet Miley Murchison, a sweet light-hearted little dancer that loves to smile!! Miley came to my City Hearts fundraiser last night at Doc’s to help out and show her support. (Little did she know she was actually coming to her own crowning as well!) Thank you Miley for all your help last night, and I can’t wait to share my journey to Miss Texas 2014 with you!
