For once in my life I am truly happy with the way I look. I’ve struggled since I was 14 years old with my self image, especially in high school. After finding out about an instance where someone I was close to talked negatively about my body, it hurt me. But I’m so glad it did, because it lit a fire deep in my soul to look better than I ever have. I used that negativity as fuel to be the best me I could possibly be.
Upon graduation, I took the reigns and decided I was ready for a true change, and a permanent one at that. I signed up for the scariest thing I’ve ever done, Crossfit. And let me tell you something, it was the BEST thing I have ever done for myself. I learned how important regular exercise (not just dance, but lifting heavy weights) was to my body! It kickstarted an awesome lifestyle change for me.
At crossfit I met an amazing woman who I found to be a lifelong friend. And man, was she a blessing. I owe every bit of this muscle definition to the one and only, Heather Barnette (a.k.a my Momma Beast) and my wonderful fitness sponsor, Bimini Yoga & Fitness Texarkana! Thank you Heather for all the 5am workouts, full incline running sessions on the treadmill, squats, planks, “death chair” ab workouts, weighted lunges, and crazy strict eating plans. I absolutely couldn’t have done this without you. I’m forever grateful for your encouragement, in both my fitness and spiritual life. I love you so much, and I can’t wait to see what else we can do with this body. I need new goals and to break some more limits. 😘💪
Sometimes you just need to go to a beautiful place to clear your head. Spending a month in Florida is the best thing I could’ve ever done for myself.. 👙🌴
